I am taking Wopr's 92 Iroc to the track tonight, turned up the boost and I am hitting 15-16 psi and no cutout, stock cal?

It has a slight delay in it to where it will let you hit that psi for a sec or 2. If you spike it much more than that it will trigger it faster.

Never hit it all night, did spike up to 18 psi, must be the stock cal with the 3 bar messing things up, :thumb:

You aren't reaching the voltage to trigger the cut out. Going to need something like 24 psi to get the same voltage as 11 out of a 3 bar map.

So you can "trick" the computer into allowing higher boost?

Yep, it worked, no boost cutout, :thumb:

Yes it works but it isn't the right way to do it. You do not get proper fueling because the computer is seeing about half the actual boost. Timing will also be too far advanced as a result of this.

Ive thought of using a SRT 2.5 bar on a stock call. Not as a aggressive as a 3 bar, so you might be able to make it work. Maybe just use +20's and FPR. My one concern is, will the car thing it is NOT in boost, because its going to tweak the tables? Like not think its in boost until say 7psi instead of 1 psi? Or, once it crosses over 1 bar, does it know its in boost?

Found this on a quick google search. Just happened to be a mopar page but I don't know who's site it is.

Your right, its not but the FWD cal out of boost was terrible, so it's just being used until we get another cal from her.

I didn't get any knock that I could hear and seemed to work fine, maybe not ideal but for now, it was fun. :amen:

It could have been pulling timing and you would never know it. It is very rare to hear knock in a TIII because unlike an 8v if it is putting in 16* it can take all 16* out not just the 4* on top of the base 12* for example.

It could have been but I did hear knock when it hit 20 psi, :wow1: so I backed off the MBC and didn't hear anymore, :thumb:

It will have a proper cal soon and no more drag racing without one, and putting a 50 trim in next week.

I didn't say it wasn't possible. It takes something pretty extreme though and I would put that in that catagory. It more than likely was pulling atleast a few degrees at 17 or what ever you turned it down to.

I know you didn't, I also agree its NOT the best thing but in a pinch, it seemed to work fine. Maybe I'll throw the scanner on and see what the timing is and see if there is any knock.

I don't want to kill his engine so its getting a cal before it goes back out, especially with the 50 trim.

The AF readings were spot on too, idle-cruise, 14.6-16:1, in boost, 11.5 ish and at the end of the night, it did drop to 10:1 for some reason?

Just because it's rich doesn't mean it has enough octane.

I know, ;)

I brought up the AF readings because they are bang on, ;)
