Well, we basically just arrived after an 11 hour drive. Not as bad as I thought with my prego wife, a 4 year old, and a 9 month old! :)

I would first like to say the hotel is pretty nice. People have been very accommodating as well. We even have our own 'car wash' area thats roped off!

Oh, and I would like to congratulate all the younger single guys going to SDAC 20 this year....... not the welcome we usually get, but the scenery is NICE! :thumb:

Well, I'm so mad I could cry :mecry: Went out in the Clown Car for a last minute shakedown and the damn thing quit!! :censored: Found out that one of the piggy-backed replacement fusible links blew a 25 amp, actually, melted it. Had another 25 and a 30 and blew those as well. No power to the I/P or engine. I have weird accessories like clock, power seats, windows, mirrors, etc but no start. I wasn't going to come but DodgeZ talked me into it saying the best minds will be there this weekend (and apparently, BEAUTIFUL women too!!). Does anyone feel like figuring out my electrical dilemma in the lot? I would be very grateful. Who feels like fixing a Turbo Mopar?! :confused:

OK, the night is complete the cops were here. Apparantly burnouts are against local regulations?? But worse than that, when Po-Po showed up in force (one unmarked sweet a$$ RT Charger and a blueNwhite) they were VERY upset that they were being video taped:confused: Mark Hamilton (Tazarroo) took the brunt of that one. You aren't kidding about the cops being everywhere. When I took Joe and Bob for a ride in the van, I was messin with some caged Nova and a bright yellow 70 Camaro and we came up on 3 or 4 of those state Chargers and I bout sh** myself. And all I can hear is Joe laughing and saying "They aren't going to stop you! Your in a freakin Minivan!"

My son and I laughed about that on the way home. Wish I could have stayed. I got a new clutch and an lsd, going to try and be back for the drags.

Hey, I thought only Turbo Mopars break at SDAC!

On saturday my 'new' 2010 Challenger had a light come on the dash, the 'charging system indicator'. I talked with a couple of techs back home and they told me to take it in before we started the return trip, so to a local dealer it went today. Took them a while to diagnose the issue, but sometime tomorrow I should have a new alternator. Wouldnt have guessed I would have a problem with the car yet, but oh well. Had 2000 miles when I rolled into the dealership parking lot. With the drive and the wait, basically shot the entire day.

Hook up an oil temp gauge next time. An oil cooler might help.

Not hot, but your lash adjusters saw a lack of oil for a time. Now you know why you should have a windage tray in the oil pan. If your lash adjusters were making noise because of air in them, how do you think your main bearings liked it? That is a easy way to tell every TD that has or doesn't have a windage tray in the pan at an autocross event.

Yours and a bunch of other peeps advice. It was the alternator. I changed it out in the dark parking lot tonight and it fired right up. I have a few things to do (along with reassembling my I/P cluster!) and then it should be ready for the drags!!

Well, damn! My W/A setup failed me after I got the alt changed and all working. Going to have to develop an additional bracing setup, longer and stronger couplers, and possibly a new bobble strut. Oh well, I've had a great time, met some super peeps, had great help with stuff and the Good Lord willing, I will return to many more SDAC's and will have a better, functional car. So, back to work for me. I wish all you great people safe travels home and I'm can't wait 'til next year!!!

Well guys, I just walked in the door.. Nice to be home.

I just want to thank all you guys for making my weekend quite possibly the best car-related experience I have ever been involved in. I would especially like to thank Justin and Jason for letting me crash in their room for a night. I showed up alone on Sunday and quickly felt like part of any group I was around. We are fortunate as a group of car guys to have such great members.

That. Was. Freaking. AWESOME. Definitely some of the most fun I have ever had in my life, and I was at home by 10 pm every night, so I didn't even see the late-night hijinks.

I was totally impressed by how friendly everyone was. No matter how stupid my questions were (since I don't know as much about mechanical stuff as I probably should), no one seemed annoyed. :nod:

The road rally was a little long (especially after we took the 4th wrong turn), but it was still fun. :lol:


Well, damn! My W/A setup failed me after I got the alt changed and all working. Going to have to develop an additional bracing setup, longer and stronger couplers, and possibly a new bobble strut. Oh well, I've had a great time, met some super peeps, had great help with stuff and the Good Lord willing, I will return to many more SDAC's and will have a better, functional car. So, back to work for me. I wish all you great people safe travels home and I'm can't wait 'til next year!!!

Man, you got no idea how angry I am at that stupid clamp. Clown Car was MEAN after we got everything hooked up. (We went out on some back roads and tore up the tarmac a little.) When we got to the track, though, a coupler securing the charge pipe to the W/A intercooler kept blowing off. :banghead:
