Just curious if t2 mani has an advantage.

Do you mean early or late T1 (pre-1988 vs 1988 and later)? If it is the late manifold, it is the same as the T2. The early manifold has a slightly different turbo flange.

Yours is fine. The log engines, didn't have the notch cut out and it won't clear the one piece intake. You can grind it out or just find a later manifold.

Cool, thanks guys. Now time to start porting.

Would I see any noticable HP gains if I installed a T2 exhaust manifold on my T1 car (1986 GLHT). Would my T1 turbo bolt up the the T2 exhaust manifold ?

No it won't make any more power. Yes it will bolt right up to it.

The only physical difference is the notch to clear the runners of the intake from a 2.5 T-I or T-II engine.

Thanks for the clarification...I was under the impression the T2 manifold had larger ports......meaning a higher volume of exhaust flow

Actually the manifolds changed in 87. All turbo cars got the notched manifold. Weather they were T2 or the suckthrough T1. Chrysler didn't want to cast 2 different manifolds so they just stuck the notched ones on the suckthrough T1 cars too. So any turbo from 87 up has it.

Unless it was replaced, my Daytona Pacifica had the old TI style.

maybe it was just a very early 87? Every 87 I've seen at the j-yard and looked at had the notched style which is more than 50.

Like I said, it could have been replaced at some point. But it was quite a deal grinding out the notch with a Dremel (didn't know any better) to fit the 1 piece intake, then I had to do it again when I got the longer 2 piece intake.

I got smart and bought a 4 1/2" grinder for the second time.

I just take them to work and grind them on our 10" grinding wheel :)

Samurai swords work quite well, but you need a steady hand.:p
