So stupid question... I know the standard 2.4 valve covers and the SRT valve covers are different, but is one better than the other?

Yest the SRT cover looks better so is better LOL

anyway there is no difference function wise, but putting SRT cover an older motor takes some modifications to bolt on

The modifications can be as simple as:

1) A nut on the back side of the valve cover to hold the extra bolt in place.
2) Using SOHC 2.0 plug wires (they have longer boots to make up the distance to the spark plugs)

So it isn't that hard to run the SRT4 valve cover and it can be done cleanly without any machining.
