Sorry if it has been posted. Will there be race fuel for purchase? If so what kind, I need C16 here. Thanks!

Ahhh ...

That is an item that is not on the goody bag list of stores/attractions/etc.

I think the drag strip will have it, I will email the guy and ask.

If you are coming from D.c. area, there is a sunoco(exit where there is a burger king and mcdonalds) before hagerstown that sells cans of race fuel. I bought some 110 there awhile back, so I'm good.

Good question Brian.

I plan to bring my own Sonoco 114, but you never know how many gallons you'll burn up in cruising and parking lot shenanigans. :yuck:

There will NOT be race gas available at the drag strip.

It is not run by the track but by a private company. It will not be worth their time and trouble for as little as they would sell to our guys.

In that case do any locals know a good location? Or maybe a group trip will be in order to raid a local fuel distributor.

MIR is 10 minutes from my house.

When cruising from home to the track, it is off 70 before the second big uphill.
I think it is the myersville exit. I needed gas after going to the junk yard and behold race gas sold inside in 5 gallon cans. 75-80 has race gas too, in 5 gallon cans.

But 2 hours from Hagerstown....

But 2 hours from Hagerstown....

Only 2 if you drive slow... :eyebrows:

But really for someone coming up 301 from virginia and points south. Its not a huge detour off the route.

just another option

hey barry, is it possible to get the fuel at the track over the weekend? Im sure there will be racing sat or sunday. If thats true maybe we all can stock up and make a run sat while they are open?

It would really suck to carry all that fuel in the back of my truck in the hot sun for 7hrs traveling..

My daily driver is a Ram 1500 with an 8' bed and a cap. I would be willing to drive someplace on Saturday morning and pick up race fuel if someone else will ride with me to help loading and unloading.

I don't know if there is a supplier of race fuel in Hagerstown or where the closest one is, though.

I have an email message to him pending with no response as yet (which is unusual). I will sent it again in case it went to a spam filter or something. And I will ask about track access over the weekend for fuel.

But unless he gets back to me today I will not get an answer as I am leaving at 6am tomorrow. I don't have his cell # which I have asked for, all I have is his email.

I called VP Fuels North East in Delaware to see if there were any retailers in the Hagerstown area. There are a few motorcycle shops in the area that carry, but none of them had any common automotive race fuels in stock.

I am glad I saw this thread before I left. So it looks like I will have to bring my own down now.

I live a mile from VP Delaware and I'll be down Friday and hopefully Wednesday. They've got gas and methanol.

I could pick some up..... details would still need to be worked out. I have no 5 gallon gas cans. Though I do have a hand crank drum pump.

There are several Sunocos in Hagerstown. Don't some of them carry race fuel? Like I said: I'll make a fuel run if some one will come with me to help.

They can sell you 5 gallon pails with the fuel already in them.
