here's what ive been working on. still need to figure out the drain tube setup. possibly coat the header, then i'll be ready to bolt the head back on for good, then modify my existing intercooler pipes.

need to weld the v band flange onto the header as well, its just tac'd right now.

obviously need to pressure wash the firewall too.

1.6 bends and Ts. here is the mock up of the dump tube. if i aim it straight down its pretty close, so i might just angle it a bit. ya, all mig'd. i do it at the shop i work at in the morning before work starts, so i just wanted to get it done quick. i might try to tig the dump tube to the v band tho, right now its just tac'd

i had a question. on the compressor outlet was there a v band type thing that went there? what did you do about that? because im gonna use the stock exhaust manifold on my omni and just wanted to go as cheap as possible.

cut it off with a band saw. it measures 2.5 and it tapers down, so with a t bolt back a ways, it should be ok.

i might have to start thinking about a new clutch soon.

If you are going to do a 90 bend anyway then you could consider buying a 90degree cast aluminum elbow and welding that on. That is what I did on my hy35.

I'm still so excited over your mani! Ive bee wanting to build something like that for a LONG time. But all the ones I had seen were TIG'ed. I'm a hell of a fabricator, but only use a mig, never had access to a tig. What size of a machine did you use? I don't have access to the big fancy miller like I use to, but my dad has a 110 machine. It wont get the penetration, but the gun and welds will be smaller...

will you be able to use a air filter on that turbo ? by the picture it seems real close to the brake booster

We have a Hobart fabstar. Not sure on the exact size but it runs on a 3 phase. Ya the turbo is pretty close, thinking about making a nice SS screen.

I would have felt comfortable using my 110 welder at home but the trigger on the gun is a little messed up and I did t want to deal with it.

Do you have pictures of how well the flange/tube lines up? what are you going to have to do for bolts/studs? It all looks very close...

Ya I'll get a pic later. The pipes are pretty big compared to the flange ports. Mine didn't line up to good because I had to cut them down, to get the holset to fit. But if you don't cut them down, they will be ok but you'll still have to grind just a bit, mine was a little more. I'm using the stock studs, they are close but they fit.

yeah i saw that but its not a big deal. :) if you were feeling fussy, you could dab some paint back there with a cloth on a coathanger or a foam brush or something. :)
