View Full Version : Rear Track Bar - Panhard bar

I have a new item, a replacement for the factory weak track bar. A track bar or panhard rod for the Daytona, Shadow, Lancer, Spirit, etc (all k-based cars). The stock ones tend to bend. The rod end ones are not perfect for street cars. So I developed one that I think is just right. It is adjustable on one end. It has polyurethane bushings on both ends.
They are plated in yellow zinc for rust protection, but you can paint or powder coat over the zinc.
Made from 7/8 inch DOM, 0.156 wall steel tubing.
Part number #1095
Price is $119 each.

Well not stock exhaust, it's 2-1/2 inch, but going to 3 inch soon.
It's my Reliant factory turbo wagon.
Airbags, got to haul those occasional loads. Blue lines are the air lines.
It is in the shop getting the engine pulled out today (Sunday).
The raffle engine going back in.

What exactly does the adjustment do for you? (slightly off topic, sorry) Does it move the rear side to side?

It can help center the axle in the car.
Mostly, it makes the bar fit any of the models.
Yes they should all be the same, but factory is never perfect.

I have fat 225 40 17s on my car and I want to add spacers to get the tire way out to the fender without hitting. The adjustible rod will give me more room as the thing isn't perfectly centered stock. Then will keep it from hitting during cornering. I'm just hoping the poly is hard as a rock and pressed in like the bobble strut bushings:thumb:

I put one in my Shelby Lancer last summer. Long ago, I had a local shop weld up the original bar, so it was already plenty strong compared to the flimsy untouched stock one. But, it had warped when they welded it, so it was a nightmare to install as it had to be twisted for the bolt holes to line up.
So I got the PB.com adjustable track bar to replace the welded up stock bar. Couldn't be happier with it; very easy to install and adjust and much stronger with nice polyurethane bushings. Very nice upgrade over a stock bar for sure.

They welded it wrong, their fault!
BUT...glad you like the new one. It is better.
