I found an 85 GLH-T in a yard today and I am wondering about the motor. Of course it is a TI log, but which head, rods, pistons, turbo, etc., does it have?

TI Garret
85 rods (not lightweight but pressed pin)
G head
G head early turbo pistons (plenty stout)

can this turbo be used in a blow thru setup, or do I have to get a blow thru garret?

You'll need to modify the inlet...

Difficult modification? Would it be better off getting a later style garret?

NO, TU sells the mod piece for $25 or so...

Ok, found it, for 75. Now, what about the intake? To put a 1 piece blow thru on it, I would have to grind down the exhaust manifold, right?

How much is this car worth? If it runs and drives?

Is that the one thats been on ebay a couple of times?

anyway, $500 is what I would pay.

Some would pay more, but no more than $1000.

If it runs and drives, I'd shell out no more than $500 for it. I've paid a lot less for much better (shape wise) cars.

Was it on ebay? Where was it located when it was for sale?

Pat, you goofball. It's Nate. You never called me to tell me about that Omni you went to look at. Send me a PM, and let me know how it is. My dad still is hunting for a car.

Do this:

Factory piece, cut the spigot and flange off the elbow, and weld...

Plus the 85 has the big, TII style rods. :thumb:

I too would not give more than 500 for that car. It looks like a total rust bucket in disguise. I would make sure that the floor boards are not totally rotted out before picking it up.
