If you beat it enough they will come out all on their own... :)

Yes. Remove the K-member, axles, then undo the side bearing retainers, then the diff cover plate, and voila, a big mess and your diff. :eyebrows:

Depends on where your doing it. If you just need to do the diff, then why pull the trans? Its quicker removing the K-member then pulling the trans.

cool that will work, the only thing i hate when working on the omni is pulling that trans. pain in the butt getting it up in there with that k member in the way. when desurbing the k member do you have to get a alinment

I R&R'd the diff out of an automatic Omni many times without removing the k member but perhaps the 525 is a little different.

Thanks

What is wrong with the diff? The 525s tend to spit them out after the case flexes. If that happened then it might just spit another one out.

It seems like it would be better to take out the 525 and throw it away. ;)

I say that because you are putting work into a 525 which is never worth it in my book. There are cheap and much stronger options out there that aren't that much work to swap to.

Maybe you can, but the 10 mins of extra work gives you a ton more room, :thumb:

dude, just pull the tranny, it doesnt take long at all and in the end will make for a cleaner job on the trans in regards to whatever it is you are planning on doing
