Looking for a 3.77 FD 523

My 568 is sick and I would like to replace it with a 523. I have no where near the power that requires use of a 568 and the 2nd and 3rd blocker rings are junk. I would like to get a 3.77 FD 523 that will have plenty of strength and I can put an OBX in without a full teardown. I am looking for one that still has good sychros with no grinds or whines. If it is in exceptional condition or includes the OBX then I will happily give up my 568 in trade. I am looking to fork out aroung 300 max for one in great condition give or take a few dollars.


This is going in my 90 shadow and I already have the 568 in and have a TU blue 4 puck so It needs to be a bigspline. I would also prefer not to ship so within a 200 mile radius of lima ohio.

I am trying to keep downtime at a minimum the car is my daily driver and my truck is broken. I would love to just rebuild the 568 but the parts are way too expensive.

It's a good trans. It was in my Horizon and the only reasion that I took it out was that I replaced the drive train with a fully rebuilt unit.

I can get a shipping quote for sure but it's probably going to be around $100...(?)

that would be nice. Ive been to the pull a part in canton and I would love to got one from a junkyard cheap but since I have class all week and I work at a go kart track my weekends are packed. My dad and sister live out that way.

I've got one I'd sell came out of a 94 shadow out of the junkyard, seems to shift fine but the cables on the car were melted to the exhaust, car seemed to be in good shape otherwise, don't remember the mileage. I'd be willing to possibly meet you partway also.

Ive got a full set of gears for that 568, they came out of a 523 with the fine tooth gear set..the gears and sycros are in remarkable shape, and its 3.50 ratio.

fyi check on craigslist...got mine for $45, under 70k miles on it too, almost bought another one for $55 that had 60k miles but passed up on it.
