In one junkyard outing, I both picked up a nice omni 024 steering wheel, and managed to find a hornpad for my 84 turbo z wheel. Which one do I choose?:o

I voted for the GLHS style wheel. The Turbo Z wheel gave me trouble with the turn signal lever. I would always have to put it back in neutral position after a turn.

That was likely caused by the Daytona wheel lacking the pins on the Omni wheels that trip the signal mechanism. Took me forever to figure that out when I put the GLHS wheel in my Charger, turns out I put it in upside down. I'd have to go pull a Daytona wheel off the shelf, but I'm sure it could be modded to work.

Having said that, I'd still go for the O24 wheel. Remember that all the K-based cars got collapsible steering collumns, whereas on the L-bodies, the wheel itself was designed to collapse in the event of a front-end impact.

I have an Omni 024 wheel in my car. I like the looks of it. It is far better than the stock steering wheel. If I can find a steering wheel puller, I'm going to paint the spokes semi gloss black.
