Been working on the suspension a bit. Here is a shot of the rear fender gap with Eibach springs:

Here is after I cut a dead coil out:

Looks good! So by dead coil you mean one that was squashed with the car resting on it? Any issues with it being loose on there? I need to adjust my stance a bit.

It's nothing close to that GLHS of yours that I just finished looking at...WOW!

Yes, there are several dead coils on Eibach's. I thought about going one more...which is 1/2 inch each time...but think it would look ghetto if it were another 1/2 more in the rear.

Thank you! :thumb: She could be a pinch lower in the front though.

Ah I see. Yeah lot's of dead coils on an aftermarket spring. Looks about right the way you did it. CSXT is the highest selling Turbo Dodge so far. Looks great!

Are those "dead" coils only bound when the weight of the car is on them, or are they always bound.

The one we cut was bound without weight.

Do you still have a couple bound? Is the spring loose in the seat when the weight is off the spring?

You just want to make sure that the springs don't come unseated when the car is jacked up or when the suspension become unloaded, such as when cresting a hill. Thats why those coils are there.

The Shadow Eibach kit actually raised my car up :( I really didn't get it at first but then Marra brought up a good point awhile back when he said we tend to forget how high these cars rode factory fresh. Over time out stock springs give and the ride height will sag.

With the suspension unloaded there is still plenty there to keep the spring seated. I'm right there with you and checked to be sure of that. ;)

Thanks for the tips. Hopefully I dont have to deal with this. But if I do. I might just have to introduce them to a cut-off wheel.

Just keep in mind that if cutting the front springs you can't do the same amount on each side...or you shouldn't. If you measure I'm fairly certain you will find that the drivers side rides much lower than the passengers due to the offset weight of the driveline. If you want to get it right it will take a lot of test fitting/cutting....or just convert to coil overs so you can easily adjust it out for equal ride height on each side.

i think there is also a different part number for the left and the right shock. Mark Brooks (Mark on here) has this problem with his spirit because he has them on backwards and the car sits crooked. my k car doesnt suffer from this so i must have guessed right. he was telling me about the left and right difference.

I cut 1 3/4 coils off each front, and 1/2 coil off the rear

had the koni/eibach suspension on a duster, daytona, and spirit. they currently reside on my buddies 87 CSX and the car has an awesome stance

also didnt the shelby cars come with MP springs?? so they were already 1" dropped out of the box....

Shelbys came with different springs than the lower level stuff but they arent MP springs.. those werent stock on anything and have higher rates.

Do you have any extra center caps you'd want to sell, or know where I can get some? My csx-t doesn't have any :(

I have a whole set of spare csx-t wheels and correct centers but I do not wish to sell them
