Mxing die into resin..?

Hey guys....i need to fill a little plastic piece up with some resin...but the place this sensor (map sensor) sits, the resin side is faced up...i would like to add some black die into the resin...can this be done without effecting anything with the resin? Anyone know?

Can you paint it after it is dry?

I know that boat resin is dyed, but sprayed on, I think! :)

Go to Hobby Lobby if you have one near you. They offer a resin casting kit and offer die to tint the clear resins. Or you could try food coloring?
