Been waiting for the machine work to be finished on the BSX, so I decided to build an oil pan. I always wanted something better that what the factory gave us. Something with better baffling, trap doors and aluminum.

:hail: very nice, ashame to make it a wet sump with all that work, too bad the pump is so expensive and the oil tank/seperator take up so much room

Very nice.

How much work was it to get the odd shaped end seal surfaces the right shapes so that they will seal? Man that looks like it must have been tricky...

Thanks Bruce! I was thinking the same thing during fabrication. [sigh] Someday I'll have a dry sump[sigh];)

Very nice.

The end seals were pretty easy. I grabbed some aluminum bar and went at it. The rear was a bit trickier than the front because of the shape, but I had both end pieces made in about 15 minutes.

How did you keep the flanges flat? lots and lots of clamps or did you build a jig?

I would be scared of punching a hole in an alu sump, lovely work.

I bolted it to a block:thumb: Since this is track only, I shouldn't have to worry about any holes...hopefully;)

Excellent work, Brian.

(Yawn) total garbage Brian. I mean, seriously...this is supposed to wow us? The quality on that unit is about as good as those sh!tty decals self promoting your name all over the car (sigh).

Big, big disappointment. And the way everyone on here is complimenting you, esp. jerks like that Special Marra "I use NOS.....Yayyyyyyy" guy, and that "I make things by melting metal with my torch" Bender dude, it only inflates your overblown ego worse than it already is. What's next, that Pat "flames on the hood cause I'm just that cool" Culkin guy going to worship your handiwork by dropping to his....oh wait, yep, he chimed in too. Ah, Christ. Total disgrace.

Ok now that the sarcasm mode is off (and those that got the joke enjoyed my sense of humor...) W:eek:W!! Very very impressive work! What did you use to cut the flat portions...the cuts look that of CNC quality, not by hand.

(and if it is by hand, you just blew me away...this coming from a guy who spent his early career pre-CNC). I'll say this...your welding cleanliness alone shows how incredible you are at your craft. Very very very nice! Absolutely amazing and entertaining watching your fab skills progress through the last decade.

BTW, lemme know if you still wanna do anything with respect to the front air intake and a certain idea we discussed of stuff getting sucked in.... ;)

Lol Dave! The rails were made by hand, if you see it up close you will instantly know it was not cnc'd. Thanks for the nice words! I'll let you know about the front ideas:thumb:
