On my jeep i noticed one of my rear axle seals leaking a bit. Well, i saw the area wet. What i want to know is how do you take the rear axles out? i haven't look at the rear axles yet and i want to have an idea before i start taking it apart. I'm doing my rear breaks and i going to do it when im in their.

Dana 35 and 44 rear axles have a pressed fit collar used to retain the bearing,
99.9% of the time, this collar will have to cut off to access the bearing and seal. We usually replace all three pieces during a seal replacement.

you need 20, 21, and 23, you have to pull the shaft out, cut of the old bearing and retainer, then what the guys in the shop do is beat them on with a 6" peice of pipe sliding over the axle shaft, or you may have better luck putting the bearing on a hot plate although i havent seen it done like that on an axle bearing

definitely has a four bolt setup. And i definitely have one wheel seal leaking some. I Pulled the rotor and it was stinky and goo we. Im hoping it is not hard to do.

Requires a press to put the bearing on the axle. If you don't have a press take the axle to a shop and have them install the seal, bearing, and lock collar.

Yeah, we use one of the poll jack tubes in my shop with a hockey puck placed under the hub of the axle (so the studs dont pop through) just keep the slide-hammer motion going untill the sound gets really loud and feels like the bearing and retainer stops moving downward, its a pretty simple job that pays well
