Would it be hard to swap the MPFI intake into a TBI car?

the last daytona Ive bought is in drivable condition besides a headgasket, so im going to fix it and drive it for a while.

anyone have the parts from a mexican car for sale?

wiring/ecu would need to be changed over to turbo harness/ecu, and of course intake/throttle body/throttle cable. I think that's it.

basically a turbo conversion without the turbo. Use the turbo injectors, wiring, computer. put on zener diode on the computer so it never sees WOT

what about those flex fuel spirits? that ECU would be perfect i would imagine. hummm flex fuel 5 speed exist?

Or redo the cal, ;)

Good luck finding one, :o

I'm sure someone on here could make your a good cal for that. That seems like the thing to do nowadays.

That would be real cool. Maybe shave the head a bit to bump compression? :thumb:

Put a t1 intake ,injectors wiring harnes , fuel pump and get Rob to burn you a cal.

yeah the cal wouldn't be that hard i'd imagine...just have everything scaled for no boost.

Couldn't you just use a turbo cal and since the map sensor isn't seeing boost it isn't going to dump in the extra fuel? Or am I just completely wrong?

I was think the same thing , but with a new cal you could tweak up the timing and fuel curves .

that is correct but the turbo calibration is set up to be anticipating boost right after the 0 vac point so things arent going to be as aggressive as on a regular n/a car.

plus the map sensor range is 0-5v. now if you are using a 2 bar turbo map, you are only using the 0-2.5V range so your sensor resolution is cut in half... ie, the setup wont be as accurate.

now, take a turbo ecu, scale all the map tables for a 1 bar map, tweak the curves to be more aggressive and youd have something pretty decent.

I forgot MPtuner can make 1bar map changes now.

So basically it will work but it just wont be using all it's potential?

more or less.

it will run.
