Sorry pics are crappy. Guess what it came off of and there is a cool .43 in your paypal. More importantly, this is a garret same size as a mitsu, any advantage??

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say v6 GM. Maybe something like a turbo Grand Prix. Didn't they use a really small Garrett?

Nope, main thing is I would like to find a recuild kit for it but I cant find out which model turbo it is. I know what it came off of but just thought it would be fun to let everyone guess.

I hear ya. Well, I've had my turn, so somebody else give it a shot.
I'm curious now...

I'm guessing a Volvo? Definately not a TGP turbo though, I have one sitting right here from a Grand Prix (T25).

Its from a DaimlerChrysler.

OK, nobody is biting. Its from a Jeep Liberty Diesel. It *supposedly* blew out all the oil seals. I'm just trying to figure out which model it is. I would like to rebuild it and either sell it or use it for some projects. No info thru Chrysler says what model ot os and I have searched around some Jeep forums and there isnt alot of info out there.

well crap! I've been looking for 10 minutes and can't find it. You've got me curious now. All I can find just says it's variable geometry.

yea me neither. I was lookin around on jeepforums.com but not alot there. Most of those guys just talk about getting programmers and no 'real' modifacations. Cant blame them though, they still have warrant on it. Long story short on this thing... Check engine light was on, tech called starcenter(chryslers tech engineers), had him throw some parts at it. I said well ---- if it has oil through the intercooler and hoses it must have blown seals. Well they let him replace the turbo and hoses, intercooler etc.. Come to find out a fly got sucked in the intake, yea I said a fly, and got stuck in some sort of mass air sensor or something like that. We sent the fly to chrysler in a bag, ha ha. They have really weird electronics. Messed up the computer controlled boost and fuel/air tables and overspun the turbo. Well so we think. From what I am finding those Jeeps have a problem, something about crankcase ventilation and it blows oil into the intake tubes and intercooler. Seems really common. So the turbo might be ok. But either way I got a free turbo and intercooler. Sweet.

I can't believe they let you keep it. Usually when something unusual like that hapens they make you send everything back.

It's nice when things work out like that.
What's the intercooler look like? Got any pics?

Interesting.... turboIV anyone? actually this is becoming more commomplace on diesels nowadays, gotta meet the 2007 emmisions requirements.
International is big on them, now if they can get the stupid actuators to last:mad:

probably the actuators are ok, ...lol..when you run an egr and cooler(6.0 litre) the
size of a v/w the vane actuator ring is bound to get ...ah ....sticky...LOL

I heard even Cummins is going to jump into the pond...

p.s....hmm...seems I will have to rethink my opinion of flys

Guess I'm a little late to the party when it comes to guessing, damn... Really could have used that .43 cents:eyebrows: Anyway, in looking at the picts, my 1st thought was it looks an awful lot like the VNT turbos I've got laying around. If it is the same, or at least based on the same center section, it's a T25, at least that's what my research has determined. And if memory serves me, the GP got a T25, so Tony was pretty close. Well, that's my .02, take it for what it's worth. :)

actually, International has an updated actuator for the VT365, i've had to install a couple.
i've seen more problems with the "stepper motor" type actuator they use on the new DT466E, we've had to send a few back for warranty repair

Don't get me started on Cummins, the guy who designed the fuel system for the ISC and ISL series should be flogged, then forced to fix them, and if they fail, flogged again!!!! in other words, he should just be flogged:evil:

from what i've seen, International has bigger problems than the turbos anyway
cough, cough multiplex wiring, CAN network, cough cough:D :D
