Just started on this project for a board member. apox. 30 year old leather recaros are in need of some major restoration

Got the bottom bolsters patterns, and sewed up. These are not the simplest seats to do...which is why most upholstery shops will point you out the door if you show up with some.

Inserts will be done with multiple pleats to mimic the factory enthusiast style seats.

Question. Do you have a special upholstery sewing machine or regular sewing machine?

After seeing your work, I'm starting to lust after your interior pieces more than the "go fast" stuff... Kinda worries me!

Question. Do you have a special upholstery sewing machine or regular sewing machine?

I have a walking foot upholstery machine. Other machines are walking needle, the needles do not change position on these in relation to the center foot. While the needle is down the center foot is clamped onto the material while the outer foot pulls it through. Very complicated and full of expensive fully machined and heat treated components. The body of the machine is cast steel, there is no plastic anywhere.:)

That GLHS seat is bad ---! Is that just a new cover or was the foam modded / replaced?

Bottoms pretty much done. Gotta move some leather around to get a few wrinkles out and hide folds. Tried to keep the split cushion design as much as I could to follow the stock enthusiest seats although the recaro cusion is much deeper and also alot skinnier.

Notice the adjustable leg lumber.:)

That's a thought! My Spirit's driver's seat back tries to fold me in two because (I assume) the support wires/etc are broken/bad... Is this something you could fix while re-covering a seat?

I'm also interested in the possibility of a better bolster...

The brown seat in the background is an aftermarket Recaro and is the exact same design, only it doesn't have the optional adjustable thigh support.

Wow those came quick. I was just going to send you a email today saying they were on their way and that I didnt cut the holes in the backrest because sometimes not all holes are used, and I didnt have the brackets to goo off. Looks like you already took care of it and got them together.

For anybody who has never sat in a set of these OH MY GOD. Its like a orgasm when you sit down. No other seat manufacture even compares to recaro.

I've got a question, do you also have the means to fix the foam support stuff? I know the driver's seats in my Neon and Outback have some damage from people rolling in and out of them. The cloth/leather itself is fine, but the support foam is messed up.

I need some work done on a SRT4 seat and an old 95 Neon seat.
I have a nice replacement (used) upper section of SRT4 cover that I need swapped with the one that is currently on my drivers seat and torn due to wear......AND....I was wondering (if it fits) if you can take the good upper seat covering from the passenger seat in the 95 Neon and swap it out to my drivers side seat? E-mail me at ataylorracing@comcast.net for a reply and rough cost estimate...I am willing to drive there, have you do the work while I wait, and drive back to Fishers....thanks
