according to snapon 'brick' scanner's datalog, my knock volts pegged at 2.1v and retarded all cylinders 4 deg (very briefly), only at around 4300-4400 rpms. knock was close to 0v but still 4 deg cyl retard in the higher rpms. how much knock volts is too much? same with cylinder retard?

about my setup: its a 2.5, g-head, 50-trim, 20 psi, custom fwdp 2.5/g cal, egt 1450, afr 10.8, of course premium gas.

thanks

'Too much' knock sensor voltage is determined by a table in the cal and It varies with RPM. You'd have to look at the table for that particular rpm range to see what it considers to be knock. And even though your scanner shows 0v at the instant you look at it, that doesn't mean that the reading wasn't higher just a few ms ago.

Since you're running a fwd cal, maybe they can tell you what the threshold is for that rpm range.
