Well, it looks to be an actual MP head... BUT ... not sure what happened in #4, drop a guide maybe? Looks to have been midded extensively to try to clean it up?

MP head for sure. These heads were all over the place flowbench wise. Picture half a dozen guys porting heads at Arrow. One guy it's his 50 head, alongside him is a another guys first day on the job.:yuck:
91 casting date for a g-head and crossdrilled to boot. Both of those never happened on US production heads. These are two more indications besides the heart shaped stamp that this is a MP head. Looks like it has had lots of resurfacing done as pad indicator is zero, so .080 or more cut from head. All so it will fit a swirl piston shortblock.:yuck:
Obviously some small foreign item has also gone through the motor. Maybe plug broke and danced around #4 for a while. I can just imagine having someone use head bolts on a head like this. Without shortening the bolts, how much you wanna bet they would bottom out before the head gets torqued down? Standard length timing belt isn't gonna work either:nod:

Thanks for the info guys. I received it with a car I purchased. Just looking to get rid of it. I have no use for it. Yes, the engine had a fuel problem on #4 from what I was told and pieces of piston were dancing around. There's also some minor damage on the other cylinders around the edge of the combustion chamber.

What do you guys think it's worth? Be honest, you won't hurt my feelings.

If you scrap your head, I could use the valves for my MP head.

PM replied Rob.

Still working on getting you those pictures Jason. What should I be taking pictures of in particular for cam identification?

Also, in two of the ports at the bottom near the edge of the head where the manifolds bolt up, there is a G or a 6 stamped into the port. Anyone know the purpose of this or just another MP deal?

Any numbers cast or etched into the ends of the cam...

I think that number/letter is just the core ID for the core that made that runner

I think I'm going to pass. I was hoping for something that needed less work.
