I came across this on one of my GN forums.

http://hoodliners.blogspot.com/

Looks like pretty slick stuff. Anyone ever tried it? Lord knows the pad in my Charger is nasty, but I don't really care for the look of a bare hood either.

Anyone interested in a possible group buy? I could be in for one for the Charger or maybe the Daytona.

It looks very nice, but is it a DIY stuff or something you order to fit?

The ones this guy does are made to fit. He doesn't have a template for our cars, but he has instructions to make one to send in. I don't know what the group buy price is yet, I wanted to gauge interest before asking him.

That is cool sh*t, literally, ;)

I'd be in for one for my van, and maybe he can just sell the material, he say's its better than dynamat, :eyebrows:

I'm pretty sure all our cars would fit into the smaller car group listed at $85 plus $13 S&H.

Should I go ahead and ask the guy about pricing and number of orders for a group buy?

Here's the response I got from him:

Thanks for our message!

I don't have a minimum, and I can knock off $20 off the price so that they're $65 instead of $85. The decals though I buy from a supplier and they charge me $15. I turn around and also charge $15 for them as well so I don't make anything from those. My main focus is helping out other frustrated car owners with their failing stock liners. What kind of vehicles would the liners be for? I have the template for the 2006 to 2008 Charger, what other models would there be? I can make a liner for pretty much any car on the road, it depends on if I have the template or not. If I don't have the template there is a way for someone to send me one that's easy to do. I don't yet have a design for the Dodge/Mopar decals but that's not a problem either for me to forward something the guys like over to my decal supplier. Depending on the size of the liners I can fit 2 liners rolled up into a box.

Please feel free to copy/paste my response to the Mopar forum guys! Please also let me know what they say!

Thanks,

Gonzo

Sounds like a guy who's easy to work with... and the price isn't bad for a "custom" hood liner.

That looks nice, I wonder who would want one for a AA body?

Maybe I will see how to do up a template for him and send it out.

Considering he fits the Grand Nationals into the "small" category, I'm quite certain all our cars would be "small" as well.

Here was his instuctions to me to make a template. I am going to do one for my Spirit, if anyone else wants to do it for their cars.
I guess a standard Mopar Performance logo would be a good generic one to start as a decal.

Here below is how to send me a template for your car:

It's very easy to make a template if you have the original hood liner from your
car. All you really need is a vinyl shower curtain from a dollar store and a
black Sharpie marker.

Lay the shower curtain out flat on a large work table or surface; a couple of
sawhorses and a large piece of plywood works good too. Lay the original
hoodliner on the shower curtain and then weigh it down with something heavy so it doesn't move. Some weights from barbells will do the trick if you have some of those. Try not to cover the mounting holes because those will have to be indicated. With the black Sharpie fine point just trace around the edges of the original liner - you can use your free hand to press down the liner edge as you trace around. Indicate the mounting holes and any light cut-out if you have one.

When you're done just lift off the weights and the liner, and the pattern will
be done. Don't worry if the curtain gets dirty, and you won't need to cut it - I
can do that here. All I really need is the outline shape, the mounting hole
locations and the light cut-out. Then just mail the shower curtain to me and
I'll take care of the rest! Regular 1st Class mail is fine, no need for Priority
on your end - I WILL send your completed aircraft material liner and decal via Priority.
