IF your looking for brighter the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs arn't to bad along with bypassing the factory wiring with a relay directly from the battery to eliminate voltage drop. If you want to spend the dough on a HID system contact Simon as he's a vendor on here and could help you out.

Yes, you need to buy new housings with H4 bulbs and run HID's, I have the same setup on my full size Chevy van, E code housings, HID's, rocks and I don't blind anyone. I no longer sell them but this guy has the housings and bulbs-

Yeah, the prices have plummeted, just like everything over the years, :D

hell just upgrading to a halogen bulb over the sealed beam headlights AND running relays it was a world of difference on my daytona, Im running GE Nighthawks, they are about half the price of silverstars and seem to work fine

Please don't be a ricer and throw HIDs in your stock housings and blind the ---- out of everyone on the road.

"I'll just adjust them down", you might say. What is the purpose of putting in brighter lights if you're just going to aim them farther into the ground?

The best/correct way to do a HID setup is to use projectors, or to use a reflector/housing that was designed with HID in mind.

just using composite housing with a regular light bulb and adding relays made a HUGE difference on my 88, and I used the cheapo housings. I measured about a volt and a half drop at the headlight plugs, my 55w bulbs were more like 35w.

here is a link I just came across, http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/brighter-headlights.shtml
you dont need their kit though, just pick up some relays with sockets, I usaully buy like 10 packs as they are quite useful for all sorts of stuff http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=bosch+relay&_sacat=See-All-Categories
but if you want to go all out HID go right ahead, it may be my next step on my intrepid

Truth...or If you must use HID's in regular housings, get some aluminum flashing and fabricate a glare shield to avoid shining light into oncoming driver's eyes.

Also...a LOT of guys I know have been having great luck with these kits and they are CHEAP!

You're looking at $60 for a 55 watt 6000K slim ballast kit.

really you should notice a difference even on stock sealed beams, they should seem 'whiter', not all brownish

Bullshitt, Ecodes and HID's, I blind NO ONE and I can see further down the road.

H4 bulbs already have that, no need to fab anything.

DDM Tuning is one of the most known HID sources. A friend of mine ordered two kits from there and I'll be ordering one for my Jeep once my projectors show up.

Man, i wish i knew ANYTHING about electrical, i'd love to update the daytona's headlights, but all this talk of relays is making my head spin...

Sorry Simon but I completely disagree.

HIDs are obnoxious even in factory cars like Mercedes.

Almost every time a car's headlights bother me they are HIDs. The glare from them is much worse than a conventional headlight. They are annoying and blind people even from the factory on expensive cars. Non factory installs are even worse and most of the installs are also not street legal.

The best uprade is a nice Hella refector, a good bulb and upgraded relays and wiring.

hehe Man just jump in and do it. I was a nervous wreck when I rewired my Charger for the TII harness. Now I'm doing all kinds of things. JDAWG posted a a diagram of how it works before and I THINK the info is on www.boostedmopar.com. We believe in you! :D

Hehe.

Welll since Simon isn't selling them now I can bash on the kits with my own personal thoughts about them.

Seriously though most of the time HID headlights just blind people especially people that wear glasses or are sensitive to glare.

I know lots of people that brag about how they get flashed because people think they have their high beams on when they don't and are proud of it. Perhaps they should think about why people flash them and be a little considerate....

Some are bright, yes, but some are fine, maybe you do have sensitive eyes-baby, but I still prefer them over some of the crap the OE's put out, even with better bulbs.

The "more power captain!" idea with high watt bulbs and relays is like going at a finishing nail with a sledgehammer. With a e-code beam pattern (not like you see on those "fancy luxury cars and suvs") the light is directly in front, and has a cutoff. I have HID on my lifted (would put them at a level more likely to be annoying) Cherokee, and I have not been flashed since I installed them over a year ago.

Done properly, HID is not annoying, and is much more effective than even 100w of halogen power, while only using 35w.

So which ones would you recommend for my car? I would want the high and low kit but not sure about which enclosure.

That reminds me I still have to write to my legislator to see if we can ban people from leaving their damn ball hitches in their receivers when they aren't towing anything!

Lazy bastards that put me in danger piss me off. Especially if for some reason I run into them and it ruins my car for no reason.

For a 200mm housing, your only option is an e-code reflector housing. It would be the exact same one I run on my Jeep. They don't offer projectors in e-code unfortunately.

I can respect people spending the time to get it right.

I would argue that most HID kits and even factory HID cars don't get it right though.
