Well, a few weeks ago I was considering pulling the 3.0 V6 A604 from a 92 Spirit ES to put in this R/T that I bought without a drivetrain. After some debate, that plan was scrapped...it looks like I'm going to continue with the original idea of installing a 2.5 TI with an A413 L/U trans. Before anyone says it's sacrilegious to put an auto tranny in a R/T body, my intent is to get this thing running and dependable for my wife, and she won't drive a manual trans car.

Anyhow, with this winter weather, it's really been a challenge to get motivated, so I'm trying my damnedest to get out and do at least something, no matter how insignificant it is. So today I installed some trim and switches I pulled from a LeBaron AA body...I think the woodgrain and chrome dressed it up nicely :)

Looks good Paul, but you gotta slow down before we're seeing the first spirit R/T with a Landau top.

You looking for a good lock-up trans? I think JT might still have a nice rebuilt one up in the barn.

Wow looking good.
Noticed you like doing interior mods in the winter. always nice to work on a car inside LMAO

Seriously, John M. pointed me towards a LeBaron AA body with what appeared to be front and back gray leather bench seats. Had they been in a little better shape I would have grabbed them...although I may still just grab the leather door inserts :)

Actually I'm going to use the one from my old white 92 IROC...do you happen to know the story or a price on JT's trans?

Heh heh yeah no kidding, instead of working outside in the 30 degree weather with 25mph winds, it had to have been up to 31 or 32 inside the car ;)

Thanks, I like to use similar parts from other models...everything seems so bland from the factory, just changing a few pieces really spruces it up :)

Woodgrain rocks! Nice choice :)

Not sure if it was an option or not, but apparently the 92 R/T's came with the woodgrain bezel...ironically I've seen interior pics of 2 different R/T's and the passenger vent is gray, not silver like the bezel.

Thank you Sir :)

A couple pics from when I removed the center console, installed the column with the shifter, and bolted in the (2pc) bench seat.

Well a different carpet would definitely do a better job of covering that hole, but I just figured I'd try to find (or fabricate) one of those weighted center storage bins that has a rubber mat on the bottom...possibly even some sort of a rubber floormat that reaches across the entire front floor.

Thanks John I appreciate the offer, but I do indeed have a wheel puller. It will be changed soon...you should see the wheel on the floor, it's from a minivan and in great shape! A big thumbs up to Dodge Aries K for pointing it out while at the junkyard :thumb:
