transmission fluid change?

Okay, i want to replace the atf+4 in my 04 jeep grand cherokee. I was wondering instead of using a tec machine to flushing it, isnt their a way i can drain all of it myself minus the tec machine? i could of sworn i seen a bunch of a413/a604 owners doing it a different way by removing the return line on the transmission? is that true?

Pretty much. Keep on filling as it is draining. What transmissions do those have? Torqueflite based? If so you have to do it in neutral as they don't fill the converter in park.

42re, also do you mean by the tranny pan or return line?
