Diff Q

I can't get my driver side axle in after rebuilding it. I tried filing the splines on the axle but that didn't help. I'm wondering if I accidentally used the wrong diff bearing shim by mistake and it's getting in the way? When I put in on the tranny dyno, we used an adapter that went in fine :confused2:.

What did you do?For some reason, I got it in my head that a shim was needed where it wasn't supposed to go. It was smaller than part of the axle making it not want to go in. I popped the bearing retainer out, took the shim out and put it all together, all is well.
