Console swaps into L Body?

Anyone attempted swapping consoles from another (newer) car into them? Specifically I'm thinking of a Neon (2nd Gen maybe) console and maybe e-brake handle. I was curious if there is enough room between the seats and how well they might fir the floorpan. I would imagine this had to have been done or attempted before. I was thinking the more modern look, more storage room, and the integrated cup holders would be a neat upgrade. Thoughts?

Hey! I like luxury! I'd probably try to go with the power windows that have been done on them and even hood struts. I want my Scamp to be a very pleasurable cruiser.

And I like the consoles in my Neons! ;)

I have been thinking of doing the very same thing Fleck. When I get time, and I don't know when this may be, I was thinking of pulling the console out of my SRT-4 to see if it fits in my Horizon or Rampage. I especially like the 2nd gen Neon consoles with that cupholder behind the shifter.

Theoretically it should be pretty easy to fab up some brackets and spot weld them to the Lbody floor. There is not much to how the Neon consoles are mounted. Then figure our how to move the Lbody ebrake mechanism, or use the Neon mechanism.

I already got a decent pair of Neon Sport seats for the 'page.

I have a Daytona console in my Rampage. need to finish making a rear bracket for it but I've been running it that way for about 2 years and love it.

I don't have an E brake anymore though.

I was planning on trying to put my Spirit R/T console in the GLH-R/T :D Got a lot to do before I get to that stage though.....

I think I saw a post where somebody had used a floor shift console from a mtx turbo Caravan. It's pretty basic and compact; I can't imagine it would be too hard to make it work.

After reading this again my post may be a bit misleading.
I have an automatic console from a Shadow.
I'm using a stock Omni E brake cover.

I had already picked up a SRT-4 console to try it in one of my chargers.....actually a dash too but its way down on the list of things to do at this point. Maybe next time I'm out there I'll set it in a chassis and see what it looks like...
