Anyone on here do this to their PT? How difficult is it?

How difficult is the oil dipstick tubing removal/adjustment/whatever?

Its not really. I just zip tied my tubr to the rad fan shroud.

The dipstick mod won't be bad at all. All you need is a furniture L-bracket to bolt on to keep the stock dipstick angled away from the plastic intake to avoid vibrations.

My plastic intake manifold is on the way. Can't wait for this 8-10 HP increase

Just buy the newer dipstick tube from Chrysler. I think I paid like $3.00 for it (for the wife's PT GT) at the dealer and no mod necessary.

i find it wierd that a little airfoil placed off center makes everything flow more evenly. but if it works, what the heck. :)

you know, these pt intakes look an awful lot like the prototype T2 intakes i saw in the pics at SDAC... only backwards due to the port placement. :)

In regards to the dipstick I'm leaving the stock one in place rather than switching to the 4 dollar one because, from what I've read, they all too often snap off where they go into the block and are a pia to remove. The l bracket mod works just as well without the hassle :)!

I think these plastic intakes are pretty cool too Brian... I don't think the hp increase comes from the off-centerdness of the intake itself but rather the engineers being able to mold the two halves of the upper intake to have smoother pathways for the air to flow before pressing the two pieces together. The ports in the plastic intake are much much smoother than the aluminum style that came on the 03s and 04s. In either case at least it'll dress up the engine bay a little bit :)

so you leaving the cover on then?

Yeah, I'll be leaving the vanity cover on it. I'm going to remove the insulation underneath it though since it holds in a bit more heat.

What do you plan to do with the aluminum intake manifold?

Sit it on a shelf with some of my other stock parts if I ever revert back to stock (say I'd trade it in or something). Why, you need one? Some guy on PTCrew was selling one not too long ago he may still have it, like $50 shipped.

I agree, keep the stock dipstick and jimmy rig something up like with an L bracket and sheet metal screws.

Your buddy out there did this, Brandon right? (socalcsx)?

Oh OK, I gotcha. I knowthat Brandon (socalCSX) is on PTCrew as well and I saw here in his garage that he did the plastic intake mod as well.

yes thats true. he lives a couple hours from me though (in san diego I believe) so....it wouldnt have been very convenient to have him do it.
