OK so I'm out shopping with the old lady. (By the way I'm 65) I turn onto Val Vista Road. It starts out two lane and narrows down to one. All of a sudden I see a Nissan Titan trying to squeeze me out on the right side. Now I believe this is a 300 hp truck or better. So I flip the switch on the shift lever and put my 85 T&C wagon in the 11 PSI setting and mashed it. Well the thing took off like a raped ape. This Nissan tried like hell but could not pull ahead. Finally I let the jerk go by we were flying and I don't need a ticket. Down the road he finally turned left as I went by I waved to him and lo and behold the sucker gave me the finger. Sore loser I guess.

Nice to see my hard work paying off. A woody wagon is probably the second worse vehicle to be beaten by. First is a mini-van.

Need to up the boost.

I had the boost selector switch set up like my van 7-12-15 lbs of boost. He said it was too much and "scary."

What's best is beating someone at the track with a T&C, in front of all those people..

The last time I ran my '85 at the strip I beat a Z28 and a Mudstain GT - I hope their friends are still laughing at them....

I really need to get both of them on a dyno and the track. Especially my van. I show it to people at my shop all the time and everyone asks what it can do. I need to be able to tell them something.

Great story!

I need to talk my dad into one of these many cars i own.. I've had him in the Aries and Dynasty at autocross and i think he likes that fairly well..

You should be ashamed of yourself, ruining the machismo of a 300hp Tundra driver.

Hey, it was a Titan!! See Tundras run 14s, but Titans 'only' run 15s. low 15s iirc.

I raced one in first gear in my dynasty and it was dead even, but out of first i think he would have run away.

Then again i also raced a 6.0L LS motor Denali from 0-60 and ran dead even. Big motor + big weight = dead even with K-cars!!

Ya but think of what's going through the poor bastards head, a 25 year old p.o.s. K-car with a four cylinder ought to be taken easily with a V-8 anything. Then you get your a** handed to you by said p.o.s K-car.

The other day my parents were at my shop. My Mom was telling me next time I'm at their place she's going to show me where their important papers are and give me a set of keys to the house. I hope the "papers" she was referring to were "Benjamin's" to bail out my Dad when he gets busted street racing.

Hah, she probably takes a more fatalistic view of him street racing with her along..

Something about all the eggs being in one basket, the basket being a k-car, with a turbo, in a race.. if i was a farmer.. I'd be planning contingencies as well!!!!

But hey whats life without a little fun?

300hp is nothing to scoff at. but consider this.....he is pushing a lot more weight (power to weight ratio) and also more air than you with his big truck. even a modern truck with good aerodynamics is still displacing more air than your boxy old k car.

looking forward to similar reactions when i finish my 86 aries wagon:

2.5 T2 w/ ported manifold, 3" SV and exhaust
auto w/ peloquin lsd
daytona shelby sway bar and rear axle
all poly bushings
strut brace and adjustable panahard bar
spirit r/t brakes

looking to make (at least) 200hp/250tq. will be taking it to import style shows as well as general car shows....if not taking my mostly original 72 suburban c20 (which took 2nd place old school against some nice muscle cars at sanford sound bikini-car show last year despite rust and no bling).
