What is the diff between an SRT4 head, and a cloud car 2.4 head... Could you use a srt4 head on a hybrid project.. What would make it harder or not possible?

I'm not sure what the difference is but I'm sure you could use it. The cams may be more suitable for a turbo motor. I know the later heads have different intake and exhaust port shapes.

Ports are different but not a biggie. An oil passage is different so you have to do some slight tweaking, IIRC, you'll need to plug the passage and move it or something stupid like that. Not a big deal.

so the cams would be compatible between the two?

What year is the cloud car?

Yes...

As stated, there was a cylinder head change at the 2001 model year. Port shapes are different. Exhaust manifolds will bolt on and work on either head, but some studs will not line up. Intake manifolds are a little trickier.

Oil passages also changed in 2001, and again in 2003, but that's a non-issue if you are going to be using a 2.5 block.

All the 2.0 and 2.4 cams physically interchange.

Valves are different. The NA head will burn thevalves in short order I imagine.

People have run the n/a valves up to 20 psi without incident. They should burn up but they seem livable in the short term anyways.

Havent been any reports yet about burned up valves, and there are plenty of NA/Turbo converted 2.4's around here.
Where do you get your info??

Because they are not the correct material, so if your putting a head on, I would put the right valves in. Same as our heads, some run TBI valves and get away with it.

stock valves are fine, multiple people with 30+psi on them

I AGREE stock valves will work. I put 160K on a 2.5 hybrid with stock valves in a 98 head. Just put a 2004 head on a 2.2 and used a different method of draining the oil from the head. Instead of using two external lines from either end of the head, I JB welded 3 copper lines in the stock drain lines and came out the bottom below the exh manifold. the extra bolts on the exh manifold of the newer heads make it hard to use two lines out the side.

Also, I believe the stock valves work because you have two of them and therefore half the heat going over the valve so they stay cooler.

I know they are different material. I am not going to buy new valves when the NA ones have been proven to survive in a turbo application.
