Mine wasn't originally turbo. It was TBI. Maybe that's the difference...

Turbo Mini's got the equal, auto's got unequal.

I put equal in mine and prefer it night and day over unequal, I've swapped back and forth using PB mounts, my own trans dog bone mount.

If you want to do it Johnny, its simple, as you know, ;)

Takes a mini van shaft? So, find a 5-speed mini van to take the short piece from? (the part bolted to the engine)

I actually used a car shaft without knowing it as that's what I got sent, it works but just make sure to center the engine and trans.

If you can't find anything, I have a bracket and maybe another shaft and one member is making new bearing assembly's.

My 90 5speed = Yes.
My old 89 Auto = No.

The factory intermediate axle shaft is longer on my Van than a Daytona one I had on hand to compare to, by a decent amount (more than an inch).

We figured that out thanks to you but the car one will still work if you keep the right suspension in it, :eyebrows:

All I know it was a major PIA getting the pass side axle off the intermediate shaft. It was a 120k OE axle.

That much better....why? Maybe I should install on in my van.

Ya know how when you go to the bar for a couple hours with friends and you think everything is funny? One of those nights, B-Day for my bud Kenny:D Wifey wasn't too amused with me tonight either:nod:

Honestly, yes. I killed a u-joint and it damaged the holes, so I put the long shaft on, needed it right away, it torqued steered alot worse even though many on here say that they don't notice anything. Put the equal back in, 1000 times better. Like I said, I have MP front and right mount, your trans mount and my own solid bobble strut on the trans adapted from an L body.

Guess I had better put equal length in my "up coming" van then.

Only if you want to, others will argue it makes no difference, lol. To each their own,

As stated previously, I have the un-equal shafts in my van and I don't notice any torque steer at all. Same thing on my Daytona.

The only torque steer ive EVER felt in a Kcar was in my non-turbo dynasty, i think its mount related.

The Aries makes a crapload of torque and doesnt do it. The other turbo k-cars ive driven dont do it.

I really think its usually a case of a misaligned engine or something like that. My dynasty never used to do it until the mounts got messed up.

aries, 320lb ft to the wheels, NO torque steer.

Dynasty, 160 lb ft to the wheels, DOES torque steer.

My van is not pushing the HP it could, because I have not installed monitoring yet.
In that light, I really feel a lot less torque steer in the van than the lighter GLHS
or K-wagon. But I will be pumping it up once I change over to the other van.

These vague 'other van' references really have me curious....

Yep, buying a black one, grey interior, full console, electric windows, electric factory sunroof, air, lower body molding, color bumpers (not chrome). Going to take everything from my white one and put it in the black one. The white one will be parted out.

WOW sunroof. That is a rare option.

I have unequal in all of my TM's. Torque steer is notecable in all of them auto's and sticks.
