Hey. I was woundering if you were ever asked to make a PB Altenator Shock Absorber...(Thats what i call it.) Its the bracket thats part of the altenator adjuster with the circular rubber with the bushing/hole in the middle. You usually find them with that bushing ripped out from the middle...

This is on a 8v 2.2 or 2.5 motor.

Hey Gene. No, thats not it. When you install a new belt, you have to loosen the nut that locks down the adjuster bolt. and loosen one of the attaching altenator bolts....its that flat cone shaped peice with the rubber inside of it....on the thin side it has a welded nut to it where one of the altenator bolts, bolts on to it....maybe i can find a pic....

I've asked him about that a few times, including in person at Carlisle last year and he didn't think that the investment to make a mold, etc. was worth it.

It's not a great picture, but you get the idea. It's the same part on the 8V.
Too lazy to take a real photo...
Reference #9.

Nice find.

Maybe start a group buy Tom, see how many would be interested in it, then if there is enough demand, Johnny would make them.

If all the cars took the same one that would be okay, but there seems to be many different styles.

All CB's except the TIII use that setup, so 89 and up.

Well, I'll reconsider....can you get a count of how many would buy one? NO idea of the price yet of course. What did the factory one cost? I'd guess they are not available any longer?

He (89ShelbyGuy) said he ordered one for $38 in another thread. So I guess their still available but like so many things, who knows when they'll become
NS1/discontinued ?

You know I'll buy one :thumb:

If you can buy new ones, I don't need to make them.

But have a part number?
Maybe I'll buy one to look it over and save it until it is not made any longer...as a sample.

Understandinf that they are available new, I would still be willing to order up to 3 from PB.

Yeah, I would rather buy a PB one because we've seen what the factory ends up like.
I'm impressed Simon, all it took was that one line saying that all of the parts are the same from '89 and up and Johnny would reconsider making it. Here I've been waiting 2 years for him to reconsider including a in-person plea. You the man!

Can you verify that this is the correct part number? My parts book says #4448455 and it's around $90.

The Correct part number is 4483491

I picked it up yesterday. Exactly what i needed and thought. My camara was dead so i had to charge it over night. I'll get you a pick. I payed 38.xx bucks for it. I still would perfer the PB if they were made.

I'll tell you one thing...the rubber they used on this new one does not look appealing....too bad, johnny couldn't cut the old/new crap out and put his stuff in....it would be nice to get a billet piece made :thumb:
