I came across these today while I was on the road.

The IROC had a Shelby decal on the front and one on the rear, I honestly don't know a lot about these, is this a real shelby?

The 1992 Daytona with the "Shelby" decals on the front lip of hood and rear fascia were the IROC's equipped with the "no-cost option" of the 2.5 Turbo I motor. The V6 Mitsubishi motor was standard. Only 230 Turbo I Iroc Daytona's were made (148 stick, 82 automatic transmissions). The car was listed in the 1992 Dealership guide and states that when the IROC was specificied with the 2.5 Turbo I motor, it got the Shelby decals on it, instead of just the IROC decals. In 1991 the same thing was done on the IROC (called the Shelby Performance package)...except it got the Shelby decal on the rear, Turbo decals on the hood bulge, and no decal on front lip of hood. Many of these cars were used as Chrysler factory lease vehicles. And most were built in the late months of 1991. My car was built 12-10-91 and was a Chrysler executive car for 23,000 miles before being bought by a dealership at the factory auction. Very, very rare to find! Most have been trashed, forgotten, or BOTH! Lucky find! Can someone save it?

I gotta say the daytona has the biggest mind ---- model changes year by year it makes your head spin.

Nice collection G-man :thumb:

Forgot to mention. Two other reasons why the '92 Shelby IROCs are worth saving: This was the last year for the 2.5 Turbo I (high Torque) motor.

And....it was the last time Shelby's name went on a Dodge Daytona.

Make note: dealerships DID NOT put these small Shelby decals on the car to "move them off the lots." It was factory applied, and WAS a factory option! Albeit a rare one. Early guides showed the option, later ones didn't. It only showed the V6 motor or the 2.2 Turbo III motor as going into the Daytona.

Mind numbind in the year to year changes? It's not so bad. They only made them for 10 years. Try your luck at cracking Mustang codes, options and engines. It's alot tougher studying over 45 years worth of ponycars!!!!

PS Paul Fosen owns three of these (all blue?). His mouth is probably watering right now for this white one. Did you notice if it was a stick or automatic? Enthusiast seats or no?

It was a stick, but the sad part the interior was completely stripped:o

I left my card with the storage attendant (cars are at a storage facility), Hopefully he'll call

I almost bought one of these, but it had WAY too many rust decals on it. :( Nice car otherwise, I would have LOVED to have owned it!

The way daytonas are being parted left and right or in yards I bet you could score a COMPLETE interior cheap. If the body is solid and it runs go for it. Even if it doesn't run would make for a worth while fixer with its rarity. I think the daytonas will go up in value especially these.
