weird charging problem

Hey all!

Im having a strange charging problem on my 87 NA charger... its randomly charging, then not charging, then sometimes just barely charging. Occasionally, it will be charging fine, then if I shut it off for a while and restart it, it wont charge again.

Ive replaced both the alternator and the voltage regulator and its still doing the exact same thing... Im totally stumped here!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ive checked all the connections on both the alternator and reguator and everthing seems ok.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!

can be your computer ... in couple weeks ill try to fit a chrome chevy alternator with the voltage regulator integrated , bought one on ebay for 100 $ chrome !!!!
