temp gauge not working

on my 88 tona TII, the temp gauge is inop. I checked the connection to the sensor on the head and it seems tight and all. I notice when i start the car the needle goes to the bottom and stays there no matter how long i let the car run.

How do i check to see if its the gauge or the sender ??

Ground the plug at the sender. If it doesn't peg the gauge, then it is the wiring or the gauge. If it pegs the gauge, then it is the sender.

grounded the wire and it pegged the gauge... bad sender...installed new sender, working great:clap:
