need 2.5" muffler & have quick question

My car is an 86 Turbo Z .I am setting up a full 2.5" exhaust ... I already have the 2.5" SV, DP & cat. I will be getting the rest of the piping soon. Question is...Do I still have to get a stock looking round muffler or can I go with an oval one? Would oval look bad & would I have to modify anything going with oval? I know stock mufflers for this car are those big round ones.
looking for magnaflow or dynomax mufflers . something not too quiet & something not to loud . Any info & model #'s would be appreciated.:);):D

I would just measure the area that the muffler is going to be replaced and most manufacturers will give you the dimensions.

Probably need 2" around the case for movement.

Dynomax Ultraflow makes a round one that fits, not sure if it is still in production.

The Edelbrock SDT (3 chamber flowmaster style) looks like it would fit sitting on edge. (I have one on my car) I compared the size of the two on my bench today. The Ultraflow likely flows better, but it noisier. The PN on the Ultraflow's case is #17741. It is a 2 1/2".
