I have an 88 Shelby Z T2/555. The screws for the ais motor are rounded out. Anyone have any ideas about getting them out without pulling the throttle body? I have an idle problem and was going to pull the ais and clean it up but the screws are screwed! Thanks.

I've used pliers before... Tricky, but it worked.

take a dremel and cut a slot in it then you can use a regular screwdriver to get it out.

needle nose vice grips work wonders too.

I've had the best luck with the dremel cutting a slot method.

:thumb: needle nose Vise Grips are your friend when it comes to small stripped screws.

Left hand drive easy-outs work too, but you'd better have a backup screw because you'll never get it back in.

I get a drill that's just a bit bigger than the torx pattern. I then drill till it grabs and busts the head off. Then you slide off the AIS and remove the bolts with pliers.

Most of the time i have seen these bolts have thread locker on them from the factory.

Tap on the heads of the bolts first with a hammer and punch. This helps break the thread locker loose.
