I am not sure if anyone ever heard about this. My dad told me it was on one of the motorcycle shows a few years ago.

Don't forget about the Tomahawk, a Viper V10 powered bike!

Very nice. More detailed pics would be super.

though the tomahawk had the viper engine, the intake manifolds specific to the bike were so poor it wasnt making anywhere near the power of the engine when in the car. it was more around 350hp... which is still ridiculous. :)

This one is not a big HP motor. It does have the rare webber side drafts though.

They keep saying it's a 4-speed, but it should be an A525. It looks like he removed the 5th gear set.

I want to see more pictures of the "mouse trap" that helps with the clutch handle pressure!

VERY cool indeed. Makes me want to do a modern Indian 4 with one! :D

It's definitely a 4-Speed. It's an A460 the original manual trans that came with the 2.2. Note the cover is flat on the end of the trans. He has a bunch of plates for looks.

Then there was the A465, which was just an A460 with a 5th gear added to the ends of the shafts. Hence the need for the deep stamped end cover. And the A525 was just an A465 with a close ratio gear-set and some durability improvements.

Well, if that's the case, then the engine isn't from an Omni GLH, if what I understand about those cars is true. It should have been a 2.2 HO backed by an A525.

I did see the flat plate, but in my mind I figured there are ways to remove gearsets as well as shaft length. Not like he needs a 5-speed anyways! LOL

i kinda htought it would be mounted wihtt he crank parallel with the length of the bike and make it shaft driven

wouldn't it be simpler to do a belt drive system to a Harley transmission? they have 6 speed gearboxes nowadays probably could handle the tourqe of a 2.5l turbo :eyebrows:

That is where the pictures were taken. I don't recall ever seeing it so may be one of the years where I couldn't get to that show.

You're right! The engine came out of an Omni GT, didn'tya know?

why not try to build one sorta like the Indian 401 that would be a neat project!

That would be interesting for sure! The intake would be a head scratcher if nothing else to figure out! The tranny would also be interesting, but doable I'm sure. The boke would end up being kinda long.

BTW, I LOVE old Indian motorcycles. One of my good friends (and a lurker on these forums) has a 1930 Indian Scout that he still rides! :thumb:

Just think...if mother Mopar used two of the Caliber SRT4 motors to build a V8 it would have 570 HP....they would not need 10 cylinders.......or they could make the Fiat 500 as a two cylinder car (like it used to be) using half of the Caliber motor for a measely 142.5 hp, or maybe a single cylinder version with 71.25 hp!

The busy side of the bike reveals the shifter, ignition, reserve fuel tank, and tool box

Anybody catch that?

Tool box... Well in all reality, you only need a handful of tools... I mean don't we all carry tools and a couple of spares???:eyebrows:

It's a TM, so tools are like the American Express card...you don't leave home without them! LOL

eureka...now i have an idea what to do with my good old 91 2.5 TBI motor, since plans have changed to running a 2.5 T2 in my k wagon!
