Well, after running a scorching 15.2@97 friday night on 11 psi not building boost out of the hole, I decided to play around a little bit on the highway on 13 lbs. It's getting faster, now I just wish it was tuned.:thumb:

It feels insane! It pretty much doesn't have traction in first, barely catches traction in second at around 6300, and third pulls like a freight train! If I could get the turbo to spool on a brake stall with this taft s3 cam, it would be a 12 second van now, on 13 lbs of boost.

BTW, I will be getting it tuned by the end of this week and will try 25+ pounds of the fun stuff, try to put down a few hundred HP and see what it does then.

Oh I also forgot to tell you, I weighed it at a scale here locally with the street tires on (not the 14 lbs with tire skinnies and slicks mounted on rota slipstreams) and it weighed 2460. I figure I lose around 65 lbs in the back and 50 in the front with the slicks and skinnies so it weighs right around 2360 or so. That's without me in it. It should scream this year, or at least it better! I'm tired of it being slow LOL.

Will you please get us another video when you turn the boost up to 25?? Man that was wicked!

I will get it on the dyno with video, then take a cruise down the street on street tires with video, then race at the track, then, when it blows up, I'll get that on video too LOL.

Corby I just watched another video of you racing that foxbody. Ha, I love the announcer, "Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I have never seen a 'turbocharged' mini van before."

That was a fun little race. That was my first race in phoenix. ran a 13.01 on 28 pounds of boost. Damn.. I am getting all excited thinking about what this thing is going to be capable of with a proper tune and 25+ boost. When I was "tuning" it on the streets in phoenix, I remember it really wouldn't break the tires loose too much. Maybe a chirp into second is all,.. Now, on 13 psi, it barely gets traction LOL.

Let me know when you do that and I will video it from another car. Sounds like its comming along very well. I wished I could watch the video, but my connection here at work wont let me watch stuff on streetfire for some reason. A 12 second van on 13psi yeah, thats f**kin EVIL!

There's a BOV on it??? Sounds like you need something better. After watching the video 3 or 4 times I hear a little BOV then lots of compressor surge.

Meh, who needs a BOV? LOL

if that's how it sounds I'll never get one. I bet if you plumbed a boost pressure guage into your i/c piping it'd spike up and down like hell. A good BOV should never sound like that.

The BOV is called an HKS SSQV which stands for Super Sequential Valve. It has multiple valves in it or something of that nature to make it sound like that.

Don't quote me on that though as that is just info I have heard.

The HKS is a DAMN good BOV. Its supposed to sound like that! I think it sounds bad ---!:thumb: Far better quality than the Turbo XS crap everyone else (including myself) run.

The problem with mine is, you can't completely hear the effect because the engine is too loud. It is a pull type, so no matter how much boost you push on the diaphragm it will never leak. Great for high boost applications.

I understand the HKS is supposed to sound like that and that you like it and the quality might be good. But you can hear the compressor surge very clearly. A good BOV should have no compressor surge. HKS makes a good "race" BOV. But there's not really a way to put a filter on it for when it's open under vacuum.
