View Full Version : Any intrest in ready to install new upholstery?

Mopar318

If there is a enough intrest, I will be making patterns for the daytona seats to make ready to install upholstery. This would replace your old worn out upholstery. I would have everything sewn up and ready to go, and all you would have to do is take the seats out, and replace the old stuff with the new.

Pricing for a pair of front seats would run $500-$700 depending on what materials you would like to use.

The pattern would be for this style of seat. I belive these are used in the daytona, spirit, and shadow, and maybe others as well.

I did, have a set of seats from a l-body that I threw away when I moved. I should have kept them. Those seats are actually alot easier to install the upholstery on.

If there is intrest on these I can make patterns for them.

(now I just need to find a set of seats like that)

If you make them could you get the grey with red stripes material used in ES/RS P bodys, ES & R/T Spirts ? I know upholstery labor and material isnt cheap. but if you could pull that off :amen:

I know what material your talking about. It may not be the EXACT material, but it would be close. I will have a flat charge for labor, materials will be added to that, so what ever you choose, is what you pay.

Actually foam is not bonded to the fabric. On the insert the upholstery is made into a pocket, then the center insert foam goes into the pocket, you close the flap and hog ring it close. Then the insert hog rings to the frame

I guess I should wear my glasses!

The TC by Maserati might be a good idea also. More money floating around there and most driver's seats are rotted.

I'd say the darker grey with charcoal vinyl would look good. Black will always look good, but it wouldn't go with my charcoal interior. :)

I'd like to get rid of the vinyl altogether as it just squeaks like crazy on the seatbelt connector on the floor. Or I guess it would be easier to just cover the seat belt plastic...

But either way, nice fresh CS logos are what most people are looking for I think!

I am using new scrim backed sew foam. 1/2" on the center sued inserts, and 1/4" on the rest just like the factory used.

I will be able to make these and ship them yes. You will however have to cut out the foam piece out of the stock cover on the bottom cushion, and then glue it to the seat foam. Its real easy, and I would supply a pint of glue so that you could just brush it on both surfaces and stick it on.

Its not the same stuff you can buy at autozone in a aerosol can. I use weldwood or 3M trim & landau top adhesive. Its a yellow glue, and its very heavy bodied so its sprayed out a of a regular paint or spray gun. You can also brush it on. Just uses alot more glue, and takes alot longer:thumb:

I am offering them now. Although I would recommend you have me install them unless you have some experience. You need to take the stock foam piece out of the front of the bottom of the cover and glue it to the seat foam. Then the rest is pretty simple. Just rolling on the covers and ringing them on. It can be tricky to get the cover on right though, and alot of times some heat, or steam is needed to get wrinkles out.

Hey Ken, check your email. Embroidery guy still isnt done and panels wont be here till next week. Should be done next week though as long as I get them.

Also the trim/seals on the door panels are in bad shape that staple to do the door panel. I can leave them off if you have good ones or put them back on.

Will look nice with the black handles, and installed on the car.

I like the door panels! What's the cost on just door panels?

Nope, Doing it once doing it right!!!

Showoff for doing it right:p

x2! ;)

As in steering wheels I assume? If so let me me know. I've got a wheel that needs restoration and I'd like to keep the money in the community if I can.

Me 2! I got a CSX wheel like Buhdandy that needs recovered.

So will I, Maybe 2 somethings...
