a guy called me up yesterday and said he had a 91 shelby iroc daytona turbo. i kind of laughed to me self thinking the guy was a nut, but i had him decribe the car and this is what i got

*91 dodge daytona
*white
*5-speed
*turbo 2.5 sohc (hi torque)
*white cs pumpers (very nice! with all the caps)
*red decals... turbo on the hood shelby on the rear and daytona iroc on the doors, wierd i thought
*sun roof
*gray int.
*rear wiper
*pop up lights

i took a pic of the codes just wanted to know if it was worth picking up and how rare it was the only thing wrong with it is that it needs a new shift cable thats it

definitely worth picking up. That was the only iroc daytona that got the concealed headlamps. It should have the A568 too.

Most of the 91 Iroc's were V6's, but I've seen a few that were turbo cars like what you found. Very likely that it rolled off the line like you see it.

whats it worth and how rare is it anyone have the production numbers? its a rust free car the e brake even works! so is this car considerd an iroc or a shelby, because it has both on it.

Afaik your probably looking at less than 500 cars like that one. Turbo I cars were common enough but the IROC package wasn't exactly common place back then. I never saw one in Indiana from 91 till I moved in 2005 so I figure they can't be too easy to find. they have gone for 2500 in the past and as low as 1200-1500 in that condition. Sounds like it might be one helluva decent car.

High torque cars by themselves are rare. Add in the iroc option in 91 and you have a VERY rare car.

Rust free, better A568... If the price was reasonable that would be enough for me to decide.

1991 Dodge Daytona Iroc:
1231 Total Produced;
987 2.5L Turbo - 612 Manual & 375 Automatic
244 3.0L V-6 - 135 Manual & 109 Automatic

Here's a thread on another that was recently bought:

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41280

And here's some info I gathered a while back:

Fellow 1992 IROC Shelby owner Mark Affeldt states:
"There is no proof that the Daytona IROC Shelby exists. The option is not shown in any literature. So-called experts say the Shelby option disappeared half way through the 1991 model year, when the IROC option became available. This is countered by the existence of 1991 Daytona Shelby IROC's. They say that the dealers put the "SHELBY" decals on them so they would sell faster. If this were true, why did the decals have a valid part number for 1992? Who knows. The 1992 IROC's (only 230 produced with the 2.5 turbo engine) were supposed to get the small "IROC" decals on the hood and rear bumper. So far, I have seen or heard of approx. ten of them having the "SHELBY" decals. All have been turbo's and several have been found to be Chrysler executive cars. It may have been an option that only they knew about. We will never know for sure. One thing I do know is that they are the rarest of the rare for Daytona production."

Another blue IROC Shelby owned by John Pesz:

Looking forward to some more pictures!

I almost bought a '92 IROC Shelby car, but it was a total rust bucket underneath. :( Too bad, 'cause it was a nice looking car! They DO exist!

Nice find! I know where there is a white 1991 V6 5 speed IROC shelby, but i hate those v6 cars even tho it seems to be very rare. but i guess rare and desirable are two different things!

Just some useless info but my 1989 Daytona shelby and both my 1990 Daytona Shelby's say "IROC Shelby" on the registrations.. maybe this is just another weird Canadian thing...

Cool, nice looking car.

I had a '91 iroc/shelby that was an automatic, but it was pretty rusty so I got rid of it. I always liked those cars though.:thumb:

Nice find...

Is this that white G-body Daytona that was visible from I-70 around the New Castle area? IIRC, it's on the south side of the highway and I think it was up on a hill in the middle of a cow pasture or something?

If not, then that one looks just like it from what I saw. It has been there for years and I meant to go ask one day, but I never got around to it. Of course, it was about 1/4 mi off the highway though, so it's tough knowing for sure...

That's definitely a cool ride...white with red decals looks great! If your GLHS is any indication as to how this car is going to look, it will be awesome :thumb:
