523 boble strut mount vs 555 b.s.m.

I am wondering if anyone knows if the 520/555 rear mount, the bracket that bolts to the trans, is the same as the 523/568 piece. I converted the TC to a hybrid 523 and the 555 bracket I had is not lining up. Wondering if I go find a yard 523 piece if it will make that bobble strut happy:confused:

It's possible that the K frame mount is in a different spot because of the original 284 trans...

I know they moved the mount over a little bit from the 525 to the 555 so it is possible that it might be off for the 284. How far off are you? although not ideal a long bolt and a spacer will do. Also some of the vendors sell weld on bobble strut mounts.

There is enough room to weld a new bracket on the K frame next to the old one-it's that far off! I was just hoping a bracket change would do it... No 523's at the yard today anyway:( Was suprised to find a Shelby Lancer though:eek:

520 555 and 523 543 568 use the same bracket on the trans. I don't remember if the 284 bracket will bolt to the "other" transes? If it does, You may solve the problem........
