Hey guys
Cleaning up some wiring on my omni
No need for the solonoids anymore
(boost,carcoal canister, ect..)
What size resistor can I soldier in line to the computer
to keep the check engine light from coming on?
Do I have to worry about heat dissepation with these large resistors?
Anyone have spares or where to get them? radio shack?
thanks

Umm. You shouldnt need resisters on alot of those. I know they are disconnected on mine, and I dont have a light. If you really do need a resistor, then a 220ohm 1/4watt resistor may work from Radio Shack.... I think. To be absolutely sure, take a multimeter and measure the ohms across the two solenoid pins ON the solenoid with it disconnected. This should give you the exact ohms to get and 1/4 watt should still suffice.

Hey thanks Frank for the quick response
I don't have any of the vac. lines hooked up
but I thought when I had the sol. disconnected the light came on before
I'll try it without it first then thanks
No just to trow the motor back in :thumb:

It might not cause the CEL to come on, but it will store a code. You could probably use d-cal or chem to turn that function off, but that is a little beyond my capabilities right now.

I was thinking about this the other night as well. Mine are still connected but not used. I will have to disconnect them and see what happens.

It would clean up the passenger side of the engine compartment a bit if I could remove all that stuff :)
