View Full Version : General: Who's Parting/Scrapping and L Body?

I need a R/H, forward K member mount. It's kind of hard to tell in these pics but this one on my Rampage is bent pretty badly. There looks to be 6 spotwelds that hold it to the frame. You could either drill through the welds or just cut the frame around it and I'll drill it off (I'd prefer this).

It sucks living in an area with no local salvage yards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what else moved that caused this to bend?
I'll have one but it'll be 2 weeks or so til my back heals up

I'm parting out an 87 SC. I can check the cond of those and let you know.

It doesn't look like anything else structuraly moved. This mount just kinda folded over the outboard side. The K member is also bent. They put the car back together with washers between them to make up the difference. I bought the car like this years ago. I took it in to get an alignment after putting on new struts and was told the lower control arm was bent and they couldn't get an exact alignment. The original owner told me that he ran into a ditch but I was unaware that it was damaged this bad.
The car drives fine and all body seams and gaps are good. I have a new K member to put on and I am going to convert the car to an automatic with a lock up conveter.
Two weeks is fine. Thanks a bunch!

If no one else gets this for you I can cut one out of the 86 SC I cut the floors out of for my Rampage.

If you don't find one, there is a yard in KC that has a 88/89 Omni with the mounts still on it. I was going to pull some parts off of it last weekend, but I decided not since I don't have an L-body anymore.

i would try to find mounts off a NON turbo l-body, the past three turbo l-bodys ive purchased have all had bent mounts, one was actually broken and i didnt know it, causing complete suspension failure and scrapping of the car :( (it will be reincarnated though)

Your car is kinda iconic and I hate to see you cut it up but I guess I would be honored to have a piece of its DNA to pass on.lol
