View Full Version : First time out to the track since 2006

Went out to the midnight drags at Tulsa raceway park tonight. First pass just spun the tires thru 3rd gear into the 1/8th:mad: 2nd pass launched in drive pedaled it to a 14.3@99mph 10psi boost till the 1/8th, then 18psi the rest, shifted into 3rd too soon (5200rpm).:( Then I decided to launch in 2 instead of drive, pedaled it to the 1/8th, shifted into drive @5800, went 13.82@101mph. Next pass same thing on the launch and two step boost but shifted @6100rpm, went 13.59@102mph:eyebrows: Last pass I went up against a honda shadow bike, announcer said "My bet is on grandma's minivan, that just sounds strange, picking a minivan over a bike...":lol:Didn't feel like I pedaled it as well, lifted before the beams, (shouldn't have) spanked the bike with a 13.84@100.07:rockon: So that was my night. I'm fairly happy with the runs, especially on 205 60 r15 cooper cobra tires. The van was breaking up some too, still gotta hunt that demon down. I have the two 13.8 passes on video can post them if need be. No timeslips for the midnights. My son was getting coffee at the concession stand on my 13.5 pass. Oh well, there will be more to come, along with more boost and more fine tuning on my cal.

Lol thanks Simon. Guess we'll see if it likes 26psi and a little 3 step.:partywoot: I will eventually run slicks. For now I only need 6 tenths. If I can catch it on a good night (track was slick tonight) I'll make it happen. It loves from the 1/8th on. I don't know of many mini's running 13.5's on street radials.

I would except the only time & mph I got was the 1/4. I have all the best pass numbers(2006) I could post those I guess and repost when I beat it. ;)

nice outing! and a good start off with a 13.5. Simon is right, you really need to run slicks!! but even so it's cool to see another 16v running...

Thanks Cindy. I will run slicks. That's never been the issue. I just want to be the only mini (I know of) to run 12's on true street radials. :thumb: Then we'll bolt some slicks on. Some mini's have never ran 13's on street tires AHEM!!

Thanks!! Yeah I will be working on it over the winter break. Life constantly gets in the way but next year I'll be back. With 10 more psi boost. And some other tricks. :eyebrows:

MPH will probably drop quite a bit on slicks unless you add some power.

True. I plan on adding 10psi more boost. That should do the trick.
