I'm currently in the market for a GT 5spd with sunroof and have found 2 in may area. Both are equipped almost identically.

The first one is an 03 with 42k. Not crazy about the color (light gold) but it is clean and low mileage for the year. No spoiler and a few little accents like the 04 and up pedals...

The second one is an 04 with 85k. LOVE the color (E blue) and its clean, but carfax shows a police reported accident. Somehow it contacted another vehicle and rear area damage was reported.

My question is that since the obvious choice here is the 03 is there any reason that I should stay away from it? I know that 03's had no spoiler and smaller injectors and the possibility on no LDS, but is that all? I believe that I can live without these items, but is there anything else that I should know about the 03's?

Thanks
T

The 03's do have smaller injectors, but either a stage 1 pcm or a diablo sport flash will allow you to run the larger injectors (and give you a nice bump in power).

About the "LDS", Do you mean the limited slip diff? No pts had a limited slip from the factory, like srt4s do. The pt uses a getrag 288 transmission, the srt4 uses the new venture t850 trans.

Get a DSP or SCT, it's cheaper and infinitely adjustable.

Sorry fella's. If I do get one the only mod I have planned is to occasionally throw some soap and water in its general direction...THE END!

So far I've looked at these. Blue one withe 86k was wrecked, Gold one with 41k had rust around the rear wheel well... Next on the list are these two, but they're in Ohio...

Wow, that is one nice looking OMNI............

The PT/GT vehicles have the hardest seats I have ever sat on
plus the width is narrow forcing the front seats to close together.
If you have a passenger with you it is hard to shift without hitting the other
persons left arm.

Well after about a month of searching for a GT 5spd my search is finally over. I had to travel from Gettysburg Pa. to Columbus Ohio to find one but I'm very pleased with my choice. It's an 03 with 70k on the clock and it's as clean as a whistle inside and out. I paid $6k for it which I think was a great buy and way below book value...

Only thing that's wrong with it is that the multi-disc doesn't work and I'm really not sure what's wrong with it. It won't accept any disc's nor will it eject any since it sounds like there's one stuck in it. Anyone know of any fixes??

The only upgrades that are planned at the moment is possibly the addition of a rear GT spoiler since I think that it looks kinda plain without.

On a side note: Since I had to drive 680miles round trip for this thing I told the dealer that I wanted it looked over so that I wouldn't have any issues on the trip back. So they changed the oil and rotated the tires for me. Well long story short we made it about two thirds of the way home and the front end started knocking real bad so we pulled into a rest area on the Pa turnpike and called AAA to come an take it the rest of the way home. At the time it I was thinking that the left side axle was going out, but after further inspection the next morning I found the the front wheel was dangerously loose. Enough so that I could more the wheel around about a good 1/2". Upon further inspection I found that the other four wheels where loose as well. Luckily I decided to have in towed home when I did and not to limp it back since we where traveling at speeds around 80mph. I could have been easily killed. Needless to say I called and told the dealer just what was on my mind in hopes that next time they do any such work to properly torque the wheels before they send ANY car down the road whether it be 340 miles or 1. So let this be a lesson to all to have you wheels torqued even if you think that they don't need it!

Here's a quick pic of the new whip!

Jebus cripes that's scary.

I guess the 03's didn't come with the wing? I think that's a good addition. Try www.spoilerdepot.com, you can get the wing painted to match in factory color.

You should put a cat back exhaust on it too!
