Is it normal for a new Walbro 255 lph fuel pump to constantly make a high pitch sound?
The pump I took out of the car was also a Walbro but was a little smaller, and never made any noise. Just wondering if this is normal...

I doubt it. I have one in my car and I never hear it when the car is running.

Is the fuel filter new?

Did you make sure the pump has all the rubber isolators on it so it doesn't touch any metal?

Disconnect the return line and see if the noise goes away-if it does, you need a larger return line or yours is plugged.

Check the voltage to the pump.

Brand new fuel filter. When it first ran it blew a 20 amp fuse near the battery. I put a 30 amp in, been driving it for a week now. The pump is mounted in the original rubber sleeve, was kinda tight, didn't realize till I was done that it came with it's own rubber sleeve. Duh....

They don't call them WhineBro's for nothing :) My 255 is loud. my 190 isn't. Well the 190 car probably has more insualtion back there but I don't hear it outside the car. It should be fine.
