Well since my GTC died a painful death I have another car to showcase on here. I bought my Daytona in March from a guy outside a Saint Louis. Car was built! 89 cb, 2.5 punch .040 over with forged je slugs, ported top end, 52mm tb, DD pressure plate with a 4 puck clutch, no cat, maddog short shifter, a555 with a moly plate, stage 5 + 40's 3 bar map, and more.
When I bought it, the car was smoking only at idle and when you let off the gas on the highway. Thinking it could be valve guides or even the lack of PCV I drove the car 3 hours to my salvage yard from St. Louis only to find the turbo was smoked (a Ford svo/ garret s60 hybird) and compression was 100 psi down on cylinder number 3 only to come up when you drop some oil in the cylinder (another awesome fact considering the car had 1000 miles on a COMPLETE overhaul rebuild). Turns out the owner forgot the oil restrictor......
:(
SOOOOO I decided since the car was having issue catching itself when you dropped the clutch and was having computer issues I would put it back to a a 2.2 with a standard garret t2 turbo. Pretty much stock.
I dropped an 89 cb 2.2 turbo, an 88 garret with a 2.5 inch sv, stock injectors, stock map, stock computer, and some other clean up items.
Here are pics.
Currently the car has no 5th gear (awesome....) oil is leaking out the drivers side of the motor(which it was doing before so its gotta be something with the top end), and now the car doesnt wanna start (it started and ran great for a little while).

Well this weekend I am putting a turbo kit on a cobalt for a buddy so I will have some extra cash to play around with on the daytona.
Finished cleaning up my strut brace to put on the front of the car and will have to redrill the holes (neon strut brace).
Hopefully next weekend when I can get back to the yard I can figure its oil leak issue and maybe figure out why it doesnt wanna run.
