Did the V6 cars ever get the bulge hood, or just the turbo cars?

No I'm just curious because I've never seen one. But my '91 Daytona has a V6 vacuum diagram.

This is what I thought. When I'm in the junkyards, I never even pop the hoods on Daytonas without the bulge (or vent).

But why have I seen 3l Shadows with the buldge? Daytonas were 'low line' and didn't get the appearance package:lol:

Many years ago I saw a 90 (?) "special edition" V6 Daytona that looked just like a Shelby Daytona. White, white pumpers & CS caps, white ground efx, bulge hood. I think the only difference was that the wing tops were also white, like an ES. Never seen another one like it. Too bad it was before digital cameras were common.

On base cars. Turbo and V6 cars got the bulge, only difference was the decal that said either TURBO or 3.0 V6.

I'm just trying to figure out why my Daytona has a V6 vacuum diagram. Sure the hood could have been swapped, but I've never seen a V6 Daytona with the bulge!

91 v6 iroc daytona's got the bulge hood

and yours is a turbo 91 iroc right? maybe someone pulled a hood of the 91 iroc or simply a mixup when installing the decal under the hood at the factory.

Yeah one of those sounds right.

IIR '91 is a unique hood cuz of the newer core support the latch is different or something vs. '90?

I guess I've never compared them side by side, but I know '90 got the newer style radiator support too. '84 to mid-'86 were the same, mid-'86 to '89 were the same, '90 and up were the same AFAIK.

That's why if I ever want to intercool this car I'll be looking for a VNT IC/Rad/airbox setup.

my 91 es 3.0 car has a bulge hood. Usually base model cars are the only cars NOT to get the bulge hood

Maybe they only get the bulge when they are parked next to a gorgeous sexy car??!!

I thought it was based on trim packages, not engines.

I really only notice the P bodies, though. I've seen sundance RS's without, shadow ES's with one and have a tbi.
