Yes, I talked to the grinder and he said definatley. Now I have been told the stocker is still best above 20 psi by Steve Menengon and Mercier so who knows. I can tell you my van feels much stronger to redline using this cam over the S1, and I studied the thread on TD about this and the S2 comes out on top.

I am going to the track on Friday, if it doesn't rain so I will have true back to back testing over the S1.

This is the thread from TD, 2nd page MR BOOST graphs the 3 different cams. I read this thread 2 times front to back on Sunday before deciding to get mine and honestly, the way my van woke up, I am glad I did.

This will be a perfect back to back as the cam is all I have changed. If I go faster and pick up MPH, the cam works. If not, back to stock.

My butt meter still says this cam rocks, it pulls everywhere and its soooo smooth. At 100 km/h, the engine feels likes its floating and I have 10 inchs of vacuum! :thumb:

Simon,

Sorry, this is what Steve said-
I'd run the stock cam in the heavier vehicle. Each and every cam I have tried resulted in a slower time for my car, I believe due to the power under the curve. While the Taft series cams can make more power, they do so in a narrower band. I remember Steve Calder's tests with all of the "performance" cams available from a couple of years ago and they all lost torque down low. You need that with the van. I ran 120 with my stock roller, but firmly believe the right grind will make more power. I get confused with all the info flying around, again, I apologise, :p :thumb:

John, stock lifters plus one shim. Tried the PT's with 3 shim's but not enough preload.

You guys, sheesh, the cam is reground, so the diameter is smaller, this is called the base circle, you need to adjust the valve train to make up for this, on most engines, you simply adjust the rocker arms, we dont' have that luxury so we put shims/washers under the lifter, this brings the valve train back to spec. :p

They come with washers or just use one of the PT washers.

I was told to shim the lifters 2mm or about .080". I ended up doubling up washers, they were a good fit, diameter wise, but were only about .040" thick.

Survey says, one shim at .063"
