My friends plain jane turbo van has always run rich in boost, I mean 10:1 at just 5 psi, but he never bothered with it. I've put a large 3 inch cat on, Aerochamber muffler and side exit like my old setup. I recently put a TII turbo on, WOW, no lag and nice low to midrange power but still, pig rich from 5-12 psi and massive detonation. I've had to put the base timing to 0 and it still slightly pings. We run 94 octane gas, I've triple checked cam timing, no codes and all data looks great. Fuel pressure was 65 psi, tried another reg, no change so I put an adjustable unit on, down to 55. Still pig rich, and its a stock pump. So, what am I missing, maybe a bad cal?
